ARTSLAND FESTIVAL OF NEW EASTERN EUROPEAN THEATREWILL TAKE PLACE IN CAMBRIDGE, MASS. IN AUGUST 2005
Moscow Art Theatre School USA, Inc., in cooperation with the American Repertory Theatre (Cambridge, MA), and NET Festival (Moscow , Russia) is proud to present ArtsLand Festival of New Eastern European Plays, to take place August 18-21, 2005 in Cambridge, Mass. The festival will showcase three modern playwrights and directors from Lithuania, Macedonia and Russia. The program will also include a roundtable discussion on international cultural exchanges with participation of the leading theatre practitioners from the United States and Eastern Europe. The festival will feature: Sliding Luche by Laura Sintija Cerniauskaite, directed by Oskaras Koršunovas (Lithuania); A Place I Have Never Been To by Žanina Mircevska, directed by Ivan Popovski (Macedonia); Playing a Victim by Oleg and Vladimir Presnyakov, directed by Kirill Serebrennikov (Russia). All three festival plays will be performed by the group of young American actors who are 2005 graduates of the BFA in Acting program at the Moscow Art Theatre School in Russia. Returning to this country after 4 years residence in Moscow with 6 productions of their own, this group will make its first appearance in America at the ArtsLand Festival in Cambridge.
