Program
Description This three-week program is your opportunity to continue the pursuit of the Stanislavsky technique, to reunite with your teachers, and to get to know Russia and the Russian theatre. We have developed an intensive curriculum that includes all courses we teach over the summer, and some of the new courses that were never taught in Cambridge. You will have daily acting and scene study classes, 3 classes of movement, classical dance and singing voice a week as well as 2 drama history classes. In the Acting Class you will focus on such techniques as emotional memory and stage awareness; partner and stage interaction; stage improvisation; creative games and stage freedom; relaxation and ensemble work. In the Movement Class you will continue exploring your flexibility and the range of motion; develop greater skills of stage and circus acrobatics and balancing. The program will culminate in the class presentation open for the faculty and students of the Moscow Art Theatre School. Integral part of the Moscow trip is the cultural program. We will take you to the coveted tourist attractions, the Kremlin, the Red Square and the Bolshoi Theatre. You will also have a unique opportunity to explore the backstage of the Moscow Art Theatre and take a guided tour of the Stanislavsky Mansion. Your cultural activities include attending some of the most exciting theatre performances in Moscow and a series of special meetings with Russia’s most prominent theatre figures. You will see many of your teachers on and off stage acting and directing. One of the evenings we will have a big reunion with all your Summer School teachers from different years (provided all of them will be in Moscow at that time.) |
